Write for 60MD
What are you looking for?
60MD publishes articles on characters and storytelling in Japanese professional wrestling. It’s important to us that what we share is accessible, inclusive and passionate. We’re particularly interested in supporting and appealing to marginalised audiences and those who are rarely represented (or often misrepresented) in mainstream wrestling media.
We also love creative formats, so if you you want to include video, audio or imagery, we can work with you!
How do I pitch an idea?
If you have an idea for an article, you can get feedback in the discord channel, share ideas in twitter/Instagram DMs (@sixtyminutedraw) or pitch via email at sixtyminutedraw@gmail.com. Pitches should be between 250-400 words and give editors an idea of the story you want to tell in your article.
What if I don’t have an idea????
Not sure what to write about? Check out our previous articles for ideas. We also regularly invite articles on a theme to give you a prompt. Our current theme is love, sex and romance!
How does the process work?
Once you pitch us an idea, or even send us the start of an article, we’ll get in touch with you in a few days to let you know whether it fits our brief. If it does, we might make some suggestions about content or structure and we’ll work with you to agree a timeline for publication. We’ll also check in with you about how you’d like the article to appear on the site and how you’d like it to be promoted.
Once the article is written, or in the process, we can offer input on writing style, structure, content – whatever you feel comfortable with. We want you to feel happy about what you publish, so we’ll do our best to make sure your voice and ideas come through in what you write.
I’m nervous!!
If you’re new to writing, English isn’t your first language or you’re just not quite confident in what you want to say yet, this is the place for you! Support with your ideas, developing your style and getting things into an article format are all part of the experience of being a 60MD writer. We’ll give you as much or as little input along the way as suits you.
